Dr. Hani Najm

Dr. Hani Najm

Dr. Hani Najm, MD, is the Chair of Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery and Executive Co-Director at the Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Center at Cleveland Clinic. He is board-certified in surgery and cardiothoracic surgery, with specialties in neonatal heart surgery, complex valve surgery, and adult congenital procedures.

 

Having performed over 5,000 open-heart surgeries, Dr. Najm has achieved an impressive mortality rate of less than 1%, utilizing a unique technique for complete atrioventricular septal defect repair with outstanding long-term outcomes.

 

Dr. Najm completed his medical education in Saudi Arabia and underwent residencies in Canada. He joined Cleveland Clinic in 2016 after extensive experience at King Abdulaziz Cardiac Center in Saudi Arabia, where he held various leadership roles.

 

An active researcher and speaker, he has contributed to establishing multi-center databases for congenital heart surgery and has led numerous international studies. 


Outside of work, Dr. Najm enjoys Taekwondo, holding a 5th Dan black belt and multiple gold medals as the Saudi Arabia Champion.
